Monika moved to Southgate (formally known as Proton Township) in 1985 from Brampton, Ontario when she was 16. She enrolled in the co-op program at Grey Highlands Secondary School to see if wanted to become a nurse and it did help her choose her career path. She has always wanted to help people She graduated from Humber College in 1991 from the RNA program which has now been changed to RPN. Monika spent the first five years of her career in long term care, 1 year in home care then spent 16 years in an RH setting. She was a Wellness Manager for six years and she continued to upgrade her education over the years.
Monika wanted a change and switched to a home care setting for the past 9 years and became educated in PD dialysis, picc line care, port catheter care, chemo disconnect, palliative care with CAPSE (comprehensive Advance Palliative care education) and wound care.
Her and her husband decided to start their own business as they could see a need that the HCC -Home and Community Care formally known as the LHIN is unable to provide .
